Veiki Bains had always loved art. Growing up she would sit in her room drawing and painting for hours. She would sit next to her mom watching her put on her make up and constantly asking to help her.After high school Veiki went to college for Administration of Justice as she wanted to become a police officer, still loving make up and art she started working for a make up counter part time. The more time she spent at her job the more her passion for make up grew. In 2000 she started freelancing and started taking bridal clients. Still in college, her interest in Law Enforcement started to fade and her love for Fashion and Make up kept growing. Her part time job at a make up counter soon became a full time career in make up and Nirvana Creations was born. Veiki realized that there was way more to make up than just pretty eyeshadows and lipstick, so she looked into attending a school that specialized in make up. Living in the bay area she didn’t have any options other than going to beauty school which didn’t focus solely on make up. After much research Veiki decided she would need to go to Los Angeles if she truely wanted to pursue her dream of becoming a professional make up artist. It was a tough decision, as this meant leaving her home, husband and family for months to fulfill her dream. With the support of her husband and family she packed up and started school at Cinema Make Up School in Hollywood,CA. Trained and mentored by the top make up artists in the Film/Fashion/ and TV industries Veiki recieved her Diploma. Veiki has since been working in Film and Fashion but still stays true to her love for Bridal Make Up. She also is an instructor and teaches Make up art at local adult career education classes, as well as private courses in make up art. Veiki specializes in Fashion/Film/Beauty/Prosthetics/ special FX and Airbrush make up. |

As a child, Manveer loved to draw, paint and play with her mother’s makeup. While going to college for a business information systems degree she worked full time for a reputated makeup counter. Yet, as all the other students were studying programming and/or project management, Manveer was avidly flipping thru the pages of the latest Vogue magazine concealed behind her books. It was in the back of lecture hall where her passion for makeup was spawned and she realized that makeup artistry was her true heart’s desire. Manveer was born in San Jose; CA has been working as a professional makeup artist in the bay area along with being an Operations Project Manager for an investment firm. She was trained and mentored by makeup artist Veiki Bains who specializes in cinema, bridal, fashion/print makeup. Her specialties include fashion/runway, beauty, print and bridal. The most important element of Manveer’s work is to be able to use her creativity to enhance natural beauty yet bring out a person’s inner beauty and individuality. |

From a young age Nav was always fascinated by performing arts he spent hours watching bhangra teams on videos. He also had a great love for modeling and acting. It wasn’t until a fashion show he was modeling in that he came to meet Veiki Bains who was doing make up for the event. They instantly hit it off and became good friends. Nav came to know that Veiki was in search for a team . A team of Artists who were passionate about Make Up and Fashion. Having no experience in make up , but enough in fashion Nav was offered a Make Up Assistant position with Nirvana Creations. Why Not? Nav thought. As time went on Nav assisted in several events and grew a keen interest in Airbrushing after continuous practice and watching Veiki airbrush brides and models. Nav became very efficient with the Airbrush. Today Nav continues his passion for the performing arts as a dancer for BHANGRA EMPIRE where he has performed for President Obama, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Steven Speilsberg, Col. Colin Powell, Hillary Clinton, AR Rehman, and Gov.Bobby Jindal just to name a few. As well as his continuous passion for airbrushing as a Team member of Nirvana Creations. |

Although I am a social worker by profession, I have always maintained a special relationship with “henna/mehendi”, a beautiful art form. I have been a henna mehendi artist for the past 21 years. I was born and raised in India and have traveled a great deal (throughout Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America). Not only have I practiced my passion, but also taught courses on the intricate art of henna in these countries I have traveled. In August, 2005, I completed, and had published, my 1st book of traditional and modern “Henna” designs. Since its publication, I have received great reviews and positive feedback from artists around the world. My second book “Mela Magic” was published in March 2007 and is a book based on popular designs for festival attendees. My third book “Sangeet and More” was released in May 2009. Nelam was born and raised in the Bay Area. She spent her childhood and teen years making up her dolls and doing hair and make up for relatives. Friends and family would constantly ask Nelam to do their hair and make up for weddings, parties, and other occaisions. One day while flipping through a magazine and being amazed by the creative hair styles and make up all the models had on Nelam decided that Hair and Make Up is something she also could make a career out of , after all she already had a clientel ..her family and friends !!! Soon after Nelam thought if this is really what she was going to do then she would need some professional training. Nelam decided to join a High Fashion/ Photographic course at Cinema Make Up School in Hollywood, CA where she learned the ins and outs of the film and fashion industries. Today Nelam works alongside other talented artists in the Nirvana Creations Team. She also owns and operates her own Event Planning and Décor Company called SS Decorations located in the Bay Area providing services all over California. |
